Lake Session Moves To Bank
By THE MORNING NEWS
An educational session on the operation and management of Beaver Lake will be at 6 p.m. Aug. 26 at Arvest Bank in downtown Bentonville, said Benton County Planning Director Ashley Pope on Tuesday.
The session was originally planned in the Quorum Court room, which holds up to 65 people. The bank's conference room at North Main Street and Legion Lane holds up to 100.
"I wanted to make sure anyone who wants to come on the spur of the moment would be able to come," Pope said.
The session will feature Army Corps of Engineers Park Ranger Alan Bland and corps Operations Manager Sean Harper, who will discuss how they work to manage the lake. The lake provides drinking water to about 400,000 residents in Northwest Arkansas and is an attraction for recreation.
The session is free. For more information, call the Planning Office at 271-1003.
